Jensen Ford second in Bobby Carrier Sr. Memorial at Ponderosa
Jensen Ford began his busy Memorial Day weekend of racing on Friday afternoon at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.) for the Bobby Carrier Senior Memorial with the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series.
Following the second-quickest lap in qualifying, Ford was victorious in his heat race which earned him a front-row starting position. In the $7,500-to-win feature, Jensen battled with race-long leader Josh Rice, but ultimately fell just short with a runner-up finish in the 40-lap main event.
Traveling to Lake Cumberland Speedway (Burnside, Ky.) on Saturday for the Johnny Wheeler Memorial, Jensen qualified third-quickest before suffering heavy left side damage in his heat race. He was scored 17th in the feature rundown.
With Sunday's event at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) lost due to rain, Ford turned his attention to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) to cap off his extended weekend. Earning a fourth-place starting position in the Scott Sexton Memorial, Jensen battled inside the Top-5 and collected a fifth-place finish.
