Jensen Ford to Make McCarter Brothers Racing Debut at Eldora

Jensen Ford to Make McCarter Brothers Racing Debut at Eldora
Four-Days of Racing Await at Legendary Ohio Oval

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (09/05/22) – After a run of bad luck Jensen Ford will be letting his Whitehead Construction Inc. No. 83 Stanco Equipment/ Estes Brothers Construction Inc. / TNT Race Cars / Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model get some much-needed rest this weekend.

The Tennessee racer will be making his debut with McCarter Brother Racing this week – September 7-10 – at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) during the 52nd annual World 100.

The opportunity for Ford comes at the perfect time.

“If it could go wrong this year, it pretty much has so far,” Ford shared. “We’ve had a lot of bad luck, and we just need some time to get our equipment refreshed and ready to hit the ground running again. It was going to be almost impossible for us to be ready for Eldora (Speedway), but we were going to give it our best shot. Then, Pierce, Mack, and Mitch McCarter stepped up out of nowhere and offered me the opportunity to drive their car. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity, and hopefully I can do them proud at the World 100.”

Ford will still be in a No. 83 this week at Eldora, but for the first time his familiar number will be displayed on the side of the Jim Beeman Lumber / McCarter Brothers Racing / Tennessee Homemade Wines/ Parkway Liquor Store / MasterSbilt Race Car / Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“I made the spur of the moment decision to finally retire a few months ago, and when I did a lot of new responsibilities were passed on to my sons, Pierce and Mack. Those two are wide open with the family businesses, and right now they just don’t have the time to focus on racing. I’m very proud of both of them for where they are placing their priorities right now as they adapt to the transition, and as a family we made the decision to put somebody else in the car, while everyone gets settled into their new roles,” said McCarter Brothers Racing owner, Mitch McCarter. “Jensen (Ford) and his family are great people, and he’s a heckuva driver, so we thought he’d be the perfect person to wheel our team’s car at Eldora.

“I want to say a big thank you to Tader and Jerilyn Masters as well as Jim Beeman for their continued support of our race team. We couldn’t do what we do without them, and we know that Jensen will represent them well behind the wheel of the McCarter Brothers Racing racecar.”

The mega week at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway begins on Wednesday evening with the Chasing the Dream program, where all drivers who have never won a feature at the famed oval will be lined up for $5,000-to-win features via hot lap / qualifying sessions.

On Thursday and Friday the 52nd annual World 100 kicks into high gear with twin $12,000-to-win features each night leading into Saturday night’s granddaddy of them all, which posts a $55,000 winner’s check.

Jensen will have his souvenir trailer on vendor row all week, so please swing by and checked out the latest team merchandise. If you can’t be there you can also pick it up online at www.jensenford83.com/shopping/ .
