Runner-up finish for Mack in Ray Varner Ford 53 at Tazewell

Mack McCarter made his lone start of the weekend on Saturday afternoon at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) for the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals tour finale. (Rick Neff photo)

With 26 Late Models on the grounds for the Ray Varner Ford 53, McCarter followed up the ninth-fastest time in his group with a second-place finish in his heat. With $10,053 on the line in the feature, Mack climbed four positions in the 53-lap affair to register a second-place finish. He followed Dale McDowell across the line with Ricky Weiss rounding out the podium.
