Mack McCarter records 12th-place finish in Dirt Late Model Dream prelim

With the 124-car field divided into two groups for a pair of $12,000-to-win preliminary features, Mack missed a transfer spot by two positions in his heat with a seventh-place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the top-two into the prelim, McCarter pulled off on the third circuit.

Later Thursday night for heat races leading up to the Eldora Million, McCarter’s 10th-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main for another shot at the $1,002,022-to-win A-Main. Starting on the 11th row, Mack gained seven spots in the 20-lap consolation event to finish 14th.

On Friday as the 28th annual Dirt Late Model Dream got underway with a pair of prelims, Mack followed up a 14th-to-sixth run in his heat race with a second-place finish in his B-Main. With $12,000 on the line in the preliminary feature, McCarter marched through the field 12 spots in the 25-lap affair to finish 12th.

On Saturday afternoon, McCarter came in eighth in his heat, transferring him into one of two consolation events for another shot at the $128,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream. Needing to place second or better, Mack logged a 10th-place outing, ending his weekend early.
