Mack notches runner-up with Southern All Stars

Mack McCarter entered his West End Package Store No. 51 Late Model into battle with the XR Southern All Star Series on Saturday night at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.).

In a field of 31 cars, McCarter's fourth-fastest qualifying effort placed him on the second row for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. After leading laps early, Mack took part in a heated battle with Cory Hedgecock but came up short in the 40-lapper. He trailed Hedgecock to the checkers with Heath Hindman, David Payne, and Riley Hickman rounding out the top-five.
