May 25, 2020 - McCarter Brothers Compete in Busy Memorial Day Weekend Slate
1After more than a two-month hiatus due to the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Pierce and Mack McCarter returned to action on Friday night at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) to kick off the action packed Memorial Day weekend. In a stout field of 49 American Crate All-Star Series entries for the Mayhem in the Mountains, Pierce followed up the 21st fastest time in qualifying with a ninth place finish in his heat. Needing a third place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $2,000-to-win A-Main, McCarter logged a 13th place outing.

1For the Topless Outlaw Series sanctioned contest on Friday, Mack timed in fourth fastest overall before dropping back to a 20th place outing in the feature.

The following night at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) with just Mack competing with the Topless Outlaw Series, Mack came in fourth fastest in his group but was an early retiree from the 35-lap feature on the seventh lap.

1On Sunday afternoon at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) for the United Championship Racing Alliance sanctioned Melvin Corum Memorial, McCarter was a scratch from the 40-lap feature.

1On Monday at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) for the Crate Late Model portion of the eighth annual Scott Sexton Memorial, Mack McCarter withdrew early from the 25-lap feature on lap nine. He was credited with a 22nd place outing.
